First, the reason macroeconomists love the "Fair" tax is because it's their idea in the first place...Huckabee merely "borrowed" it for his platform. Second, why are we still talking about a pipedream?? The 16th Amendment will not be repealed to see it to reality. Even if we could, other taxes would be heaped on top including the fact that the rate would be much higher than initially reported of 23% being much nearer to 28 to 30%. On top of all this a blackmarket for new products would literally spring up overnight from the day the tax began. So, whose tax plan actually shows that they fully appreciate our circumstances of law and reality?? Fred Dalton Thompson's optional Flat tax which will help pave the way to better options in the years to come. But don't take my word for it;
