Ostriches now work for Slate?
by San

Lithwick, today, seems to have her head buried in the sand with those little doosey: "The major bipartisan draft fraud report (PDF) on the subject concluded there's very little polling-place fraud in America."

Really? Because it sure seems that in Washington State there was enough voter fraud to cause an election that tight to seem highly in doubt. In Florida, with a Presidential election with about 1,000 people in difference, that seems awful.

Must we ignore the precedence of voter fraud, that has even lead to the death of Edgar Allen Poe? (He was taken by a bully gang, fed lots of liquor along with other people, voted multiple times, and dumped on the streets to just die from alcohol poisoning).

Why do we have police officers check IDs enter into federal buildings but not in a polling place? Why have students check IDs going onto schools? Employees? Why have them at our airports?

IDs are important. How can you even begin to claim an election is correct, when you don't even know if the person should be voting? Just 40 years ago, the dead came out to vote. Hell, not too long ago they did in Philadelphia and Baltimore.

Oh, but thats just imaginary or doesn't matter, because a "professor" says so. Right, because "professors" are so smart that obviously they know everything. What agenda does this professor have when he is afraid to check and see if people belong somewhere when it decides the President?

Anyone can get an ID in Indiana. The ACLU even admitted that it was easy. It was only the "thought" of requiring an ID. The Elderly already need one to cash their Social Security checks, and if the young don't have one, shame on them.

Sounds like Florida and Ohio . . .

all over again. I have yet to see the voters act in mass to vote fraudulently. I have seen election officials, elected officials, and politicians act fraudulentlyto secure an election. So we ID all of the people to prevent election officials, elected officials, and politicians from commiting fraud? Make sense to me.

Think about it . . .

More of the usual misdirection... get the focus on the bogey man of individuals voters. Then they pick your pocket with the lack of controlls on absentee ballots and easily hacked electronic voting machines.

How dare you try to prevent the dead from voting!

What are you?, a zombieist?

Yes, the dead are wise. For example, the living elected Nixon over JFK, but luckily the dead hadn't forgotten their loyalty to Mayor Daley and rolled out when he shouted, "Arise! Arise!"

"I have yet to see the voters act in mass to vote fraudulently."

Philadelphia had 100% voter turnout in 2000 in areas that didn't even have 100% of the people alive to turn out.

Thats obvious voter fraud.

Get your head out of the sand.

How would IDs have fixed that, idiot?

" How would IDs have fixed that, idiot?"

Because they wouldn't have had other people come up and pretend to be the person? Dur.

Without an ID, you can say you are whoever you want to.

Sure, thay all called each other up

and went to the polls to vote multiple times . . . the ones who did not live there anymore, had multiple IDs with different addresses, and even the dead ones. You are reacting to the symptoms and not the causes. Voters don't commit voter fraud. Election officials, policticans, and the elected are the instigators of "Voting Fraud."

Would you call Blackwell's failure to have enough machines in strategic's places "voting fraud?" I would. Same theory as you can prevent voters from voting by limiting their access to vote through ID requirement, Poll taxes, short hours, late absintee ballots, and lack of resorces causing hardship.

Don't be silly.

"Voters don't commit voter fraud. Election officials, policticans, and the elected are the instigators of "Voting Fraud.""

Seeing as how politicians are voters to, you destroyed your own argument.

Oh my, my, my

Best shot at an answer?

Again, don't be silly. The issue is "voting fraud." You are attacking voters when the issue is the administration.

"The issue is "voting fraud." You are attacking voters when the issue is the administration."

You still think there is a difference between voters and administrators of voting. That makes you unable to understand the real situation. Sorry, but you disqualified yourself from this conversation.
