Nothing here sounds particular cocky. Maybe you're more annoyed with folks' messianic reaction.

His job is to run a campaign. If people respond positively - SUPER positively - then he's done his job well. Don't be a hater because he's being more successful than anyone could have imagined. And he's not promising the moon - he's just saying let's try something different.

Whatever he's doing, it's working.
