BoSox: I agree with you. Hitch, understandably, doesn't understand how incremental (human) steps and how much emotional quotient is involved in what is occurring -- or, the pain and indignities African-Americans survived -- still working for and believing in the American experience. The complexity is not explicable in soundbites and...everything doesn't have to make logical sense. How boring to not feel empathy and graciously accept what he cannot possibly understand of our Nation's experience. It has taken WORK on the part of ALL of us to make the American experiment work...so he can leave Europe to enjoy (criticize?) it. The Obamas have come further and have more qualifications than George W. Bush, the uber-legacy for EVERY opportunity, ever had....
