It's a joke. If I recall, the story behind this is that The writers and actors wanted to thank the crew for their hard work in general and putting in some serious work hours to get the show wrapped in particular.
This is pretty old to be a hot document. Basically Slate is re-warming old Wire-related content to prime for whatever fresh content they have coming.
