Huckabee fights back
by lukeliberty
I am a former Huckabee contributor and supporter. The last three weeks have caused me to change. It has nothing to do with Romney's ads. It is Huckabee's own doing. His amateurish and sophomoric comments about foreign policy, beginning with the Foreign Affairs article and culminating in the Pakistani martial law, illegal immigration, and John Bolton pushed me away. I am also incensed about his innuendo about Mormonism. I am an orthodox Christian and wish the Democratic party believed in the right to choose (that is, the right to choose to believe that it really is a human being in the womb), but Huckabee's comments about Mormonism do not belong in public discourse, let alone by a Baptist minister trying to convince an electorate that he should lead a >>secular<< government. I am now pulling for Romney to finish Huckabee off in Iowa. Huckabee may have many merits, but he is not presidental material and it is time to winnow the field.

As a lifelong Republican, I will either vote Democratic or not at all should Romney win the nomination. The flip flopping is definitely troubling. Equally important though, no matter how polished he looks, I can't support someone that has built his life on the myth created by an early American charlatan. I'd rather Republicans lose the election than hand over the keys to Romney.

Before locking in on Romney, people should take a serious look at what the Mormon's core history of beliefs are. After investigating, many or most will have major doubts that anyone which believes this story should lead the free world,

Mormon view on government
If our government(s) would do what is stated there (D&C 134), we would be on the road to peace AND liberty for all.
Your comments show you clearly do NOT understand Mormons, their doctrine, or history.
Does anyone have a link to what each religious group/sect says about the role of government? I don't know of any that is more supportive of the Constitution than what the Mormons have in writing (scripture, no doubt).
I don't know of any Democrat who would measure up to such a "universal" standard.
Huckabee most definitely does not understand the proper role of government.
Ron Paul and Romney are the only candidates who "get it."
I say Romney/Paul (pres./vp) ticket... Now that would be interesting...and much more fun than any Clinton scandal.

If Huckabee really was God's Choice would there be any need for an election? How could God's Choice lose, exactly?

LukeLiberty, I believe the USA does give each person "the right to choose to believe that it really is a human being in the womb". Who is not allowed to believe that? Who is forced to get an abortion? Apparently what you want is the right to make that choice for other people.
