Just watch the next Republican convention this summer, and you will see flags with Abe's picture. Lincoln may be cited in some of the tedious long-winded speeches (remember Reagan mis-quotiing Lincoln at the '92 convention?). He is still honored in some Republican circles, including some of my R friends.

Are you a Republican? If so, given your feelings, I should think that you would want either to work to change your party's policy re. Abe, or find a new political party. I'd love to hear your thoughts.
