dissidents in concentration camps
by markrampion
Hoover's plan was an evil idea that has refused to die. During the Nixon administration another plan was outed that would have confined thousands of dissidents (anti-war activists like me) to camps in the the southwest. Bush ordered a plan for similar confinement camps a few years ago. The scenario is always the same: defining dissidents as a threat to national security, suspending habeas corpus, planning confinement to camps in isolated areas.... There are lists. My name is listed and yours may be also. One has to understand that there has long been a powerful fascist element in the US that seems to come to power from for a time, then uses and even creates crises to justify unconstitutional acts that up until the present have eventually undone them. US citizens need to wake up and fight back!

How do you know if you're on the list or not?

Generally having an arrest record for protesting the USA is one way to be sure you're on the list-but in the internet age the lazy dissident collectors need only seek out your posts and use your IP address to track you down.

Ironically, it is the land of free speech which produces those who equate use of free speech with a threat to power of fascism.

Dont worry though-Bush is already in power, our elections already demonstrating some questionable outcomes, and if anyone thinks that list is short, they got a lot to learn.

I wonder if that prison thing we have in Guantanamo was part of a Hoover like plan? If so, good thing it got mostly used against foreigners, ain't it?
