The thing is, it actually makes me like him more. His family just looks insanely happy, in a very genuine, and human, way. Sure, the matching outfits are ridiculous and corny, but it made me smile. And I don't even like the guy.

Unfortunately, I don't think it's really comparable to Hillary's photo. The problem is that her photo makes her look "weak" and "tired" (as harsh critics of hers have pointed out). Yes, these are human characteristics, but not desirable for our next president. I hate the double standard, but unfortunately Hillary has no room to show weakness in this race.

Hillary has my support if she is our nominee, but I have to say that the photo does not bode well. It might humanize her to sympathetic females, but unfortunately I don't think men have much sympathy for her at all. And conservatives have especially little empathy for people they dislike.

Liberals, meanwhile, are not about to ridicule some absurd candidate wearing a fat clown suit. There are much more embarrassing - and substantive - things about Huckabee than this photo.

What double standard are you referring to? People have demonstrated concerns over other candidates (McCain, Thompson etc) being too old or worn out to survive the presidency.

I think you are right that she doesn't get much sympathy from men, but what exactly should people be sympathetic about?

American politics is all about destroying the opponent to the point that all the viable choices end up leaving a bad taste in your mouth. Most if not all the male candidates in recent elections have been attacked and ridiculed at some point. It's part of the stupid game. It doesn't suddenly become discrimination just because it is happening to a woman.

That Huckabee picture was taken about the same time that one of those sons was in trouble with the law for using a rope to hang a dog over a tree branch. Does that help give this picture of a wholesome family some perspective?

Since the lighting is so bad in the Clinton photo it calls into question whether the picture has been "enhanced".
