A couple funny things
by Inquisitor

It is ironic that those in the developeded world find the consequences of globalization so hard to stomach. For years they have been lecturing the developing world about adapting to realities of the modern world and not living in the past and rightly so. Now when the developing world finally emerges into the fray they get all huffy.

Also maybe with some competent Indian engineers on the case they can make the Jaguar actually run well.

Yes, but the third world's role in globalization was supposed to be as a source of cheap labor for U.S. bosses to exploit. They weren't supposed to outsmart our fatcats. They were never intended to compete!

I sometimes wonder what US bosses thought would happen when they started exporting all of the actual work that goes into making things. I'm not just talking about assembly and manufacture but also engineering. Did they really think that management expertise was going to elude the developing nations? I'm not even sure that management expertise is a real thing.
