Man Hunts????
by Doc Holliday
Last spring, (2007), two inmates drove off from a prison work farm east of Great Falls, MT. These were non-violent offenders. About a week later, they were spotted skinny dipping in a creek, (it was snowing/raining at the time and the spring hatch of mosquitoes was at its height ), in the Swan River Valley by a Forest Service Officer. The Officer took their clothes and the escapees ran off.

The local Sheriff's Department, (think very small, very, very small), set up roadblocks on main highway through the Swan Valley. The first one was two guys standing in the middle of the road. The second road block was the Department's equivalent to SWAT - guys in black suits with MP5 submachine guns going through, and tearing up, tourons' motor homes and travel trailers, (50% of our economy is tourism based, so upsetting the tourons is a no-no). The third roadblock was the same as the second. The problem with this whole thing was that the second and third roadblocks were almost within sight of each other.

It was almost comical - actually, to me it was, but I wasn't driving a motor home. They caught one of the escapees about two days later. The other one about two weeks later. I can't imagine wondering nude around in the forest with billions of mosquitoes for two weeks.

Manhunts aren't always what they are cracked up to be...

Never heard the expression "touron" before. I guess calling them to their face is probably also a no-no?

There was a bank robbery in my city a couple days ago. During the getaway, the baddies in an effort to keep from being identified threw their shirts out the window. (So, when pictures of the capture aired, they were shirtless just like you see in every COPS episode.) Personally, I'd think being in a shirt that matched the one in the description probably would stand out less than being shirtless in sub-freezing temperatures, but I don't have the smarts of a bank robber, I guess.

Here in Wisconsin, we have infestations of mosquitos.

We ALSO have infestations of these life forms from Illinois.
While we don't call them "tourons", we DO have some fitting acronyms for them such as:

FIB=F-ing Illinois Bastards

FIBWAS=F-ing Illinois Bastard With A Snowmobile

FISHTAB=F-ing Illinois Shit Head Towing A Boat

Do EVER let anyone tell you that the "s" in Illinois is silent.
It IS Illinoise.
