Remember when Condi tried to explain that the PDB titled "Bin Laden determined to attack inside U.S." that Bush received a month before 9/11 was just a "historical document," or how she said before 9/11 that Bush wouldn't take action against Al Qaeda after the Cole bombing because he didn't want to waste time "swatting flies?" What a joke! As the official responsible for coordinating national security, she failed spectacularly. Like all of these Bushies she had no comprehension of the threats posed by Al Qaeda. She was also one of those idiots invoking mushroom clouds while trying to sell the notion that Iraq was such such an urgent threat that we had to invade ASAP, when in fact Saddam's nuclear program consisted of a few pipes buried in some scientist's backyard. As I said, what a joke this woman is.

Justifying the administration sitting idly on the sidelines last year during the Lebanon War between Israel and Hezbollah, with the offhanded claim that Israel’s confrontation with Hezbollah represented “the birth pangs of a new Middle East.” The administration’s bet was that Israel would rout Hezbollah, but of course it only strengthened Hezbollah’s hand in the region. And in the process, the month-long war claimed about 1,000 civilian lives.

As you point out, Rice’s only role has been salesman, hard-selling Bush policy on the front end and doing political damage control on the back end when the policies fail.
