It was 1976, wintry, and bleak at school, exams coming. I purchased the latest Joni, Hejira, and put it on. Did my usual morning stretches to her. Then came Amelia:

"Maybe I've never really loved

I guess that is the truth...."

Well, if she hadn't loved, in all of those earlier albums and love songs, then what the hell? What chance did I have? I've carried on, but wonder about her still....did she find it? Does it, can it last?
