Labor Laws for Vermin...

The scene in Andalasia Fashions had a delicious hidden (and I'm sure unintended) irony:

The fashion industry exists in the US only as a series of administrative offices and design houses. The actual clothes are manufactured offshore where ever the labor is cheapest.

The fact that Giselle was not just designing, but manufacturing, her line on-site (presumably in New York) had to do with the fact that all of the labor was being done by rats, pigeons and roaches. It's a sweatshop that would make Disney fluorescent green with envy, since I can't imagine getting fair labor laws passed that would apply to vermin.

In fact, Andalasia Fashions is only the beginning. I predict that she will quickly unload the label to WalMart and go into the consulting business, using her pied piper skills to revolutionize all manufacturing worldwide. Labor organizers of the world will be quaking in their boots!
