Religious leadership
by Telemachus
I look forward to the day when we elect our first Scientologist as President, or Unitary Executive, or whatever the Republicans will be calling it then. By that time it won't just be the Grahams and the Robertses and the Dobsons and the Robertsons who know that modern religion is just a scam. Everybody will be in on the joke. A curdled soul like Hitchens just loves all the "evangelical" fervor that the American political system has become infected with. Faith becomes lugubrious gullibility, Piety equals Hypocrisy and Charity begins in the Swiss bank account. It must all make an atheist feel so superior. The problem for Hitchens, and Romney, and Bush, and Osama is that God is real and has a wicked sense of humor. And He sometimes opens a can of poetic justice whupass like in 1986.

Yes, he did, the sonofabitch. That's the day I turned my back on God.

Hah!
