Good Football?
by prag

So, other than Mizzou/Jayhawks, OU/Oklahoma State, and LSU/Arkansas, what are the hot games this weekend?

Note: I love smash mouth defensive football and basketball. Always loved to play and watch defense far more than offense, except for low post in basketball, which can get pretty physical too. It's a little early for Christmas, but in sports, it's far better to give than to receive :-)

A Truck Named McFadden

has put a whole new slant on the Mizzou-Jayhawk game. LSU was just too bunged up on defense to keep up with an excellent AK team and game plan, and with McFadden, a truly exceptional athelete. My congratulations to AK. What a game!!!
The BCS in Hell

If you think about it for a minute you could have Mizzou and Kansas playing for the BCS title. It happened a couple of times before the BCS was instituted and screwed the polls up even worse than they were before.

The BCS is certainly in hell. Texas went down to A&M, leaving the OSU/OU game to determine who goes to the Big 12 South. Assuming OSU wins, then either OU or Texas will represent the South, depending on the BCS rankings of both. Which is a crock of shit, and a slap in the face to OSU, who will have an identical conference record with OU and Texas, should they win.

Regarding the Missouri/Kansas game, should the winner go on to win the Big 12 championship game, certainly a good chance of playing for the national championship.

Should that winner be Missouri, then a national championship game between Missouri and Kansas certainly not out of the question.

Indeed a strange season. Very good to see LSU go down though always felt they were a paper tiger.

Regarding Missouri an Kansas, the Big 12 Conference is murderers row. Either team can determine it's own fate now.

Regarding the BCS, drop the C, and you got it. Pure BULLSHIT.

The best of luck to both Missouri and Kansas. Two very fine teams in a conference that is definitely a son of a bitch.

I flashed back and forth on the commercials to the Longhorn/Aggie game, and I just couldn't believe how flat Texas looked compared to the same team last year. Also, my congrats to A&M. They played a fine game, but not as fine as AK played.

McFadden put on a Heisman clinic and that other running back, was it Scott?, was quicker than greased lightning and could sneak through the tiniest of holes off of (mostly right I remember) tackle and end. McFadden just flat outran them, and I only remember him really being stood up and chucked hard once. That's a trait that most great running backs seem to have --- how to get extra yardage and also how to be tackled but never really hit hard. He's a franchise player.

I can't wait for the Mizzou/Kansas game today. Go, Tigers, my home state team! Win one for 155 and Coach Dan.

LOL.

Definitely win one for 155. This is liable to be a "three-quart" day for him.

Good luck to both Missouri and Kansas. I have to confess that I like both teams. Hopefully be a hell of a game.

As for OU, to borrow and old expression of my father's, I'm afraid they may be up Shit Creek without a paddle. Damned OSU is scary. If they ever learn how to play four quarters, we will indeed be in deep shit.

Enjoy the game guys.
