How about we concentrate on candidates policy issues? Are we are required to know everything about the candidates private lives? Where was this interest in 2000 and 2004 as regards our current President? He, his family, and his friends are off limits. Shouldn't that apply to our current candidates? If not, I want to know all about the private lives of those who report about it. Fair is fair.

You've got a good point. And it reminds me of another fact -- in the entire history of the US, we've only had one president who wasn't married, James Buchanan, who was president just prior to Lincoln. I have to wonder if a single man or woman could even be elected nowadays in our busybody, "family values", society.
