What Al doesn't know
by ironmann29
Who cares what Al doesnt know. I dont know, no one knows what the future has in store for us. The man has made every one more aware of a real problem weither were here in 200 years or not. Sounds like a politcial jab to me. I know one thing in order for this world to be a better place to live. It boils down to this generation of people. We must, one way or the other do what's right. It starts with the government as we are just little peons with a right to an opinion as is the columnist. We have alot of issues to deal with already. Everyone around the world does. Mother earth deserves alot better than what she gets right now. We as a country that is supposed to lead should do so in making it better now and not later. Nothing is easy but im game for this change that needs to happen. My kids deserve, my grandchildren deserve it and so do yours. Good job Al, people needed to know. Now can we teach them to care about the future of this land and our children without turning this into a political hoop la.
It's not apathy

We care a lot about our children, but less about our grandchildren. This is not nuts, because one feature of our world for the last several hundred years is that each generation has had it better than its predecessors. Climate change is no more of a threat to that than nuclear war was for us.

Assuming Al is right tells you very little about how to answer the author's questions. That's why calculation is necessary.
