Chronicles 1

Hi David

First time a read your blog. Interesting view points.

But, having fallen asleep during your tour of the chronicles, you missed the main pint.

Chronicles does not mention (almost) the Israelite kings, only the Judean kings and their deeds.

This is the bible told by Judeans. Sort of trying to re-write history and deminishing the role of the Israelites.

BTW, Israel (the northern kingdom) has been the dominant one one until destroyed by the Assyrians (which were supported by Judea).

So, it is all politics. (What is new?)

Good points.

I rather imagine that histories are usually rewritten in similar fashion -- not necessarily that they change specific "facts" (although that happens too) so much as what they chose to include or to leave out, and the point of view they take.

I was hoping this would get a bit more discussion going, but it seems as though the regulars have not come back here following the transition to the new format.

Thanks. I am going to hit just that point in the 2 Chronicles entry, probably tomorrow.
