But they are Canadians.

Theirs is only different because of the exchange rate, once you factor that in then it's the same day.

Canadians: The New Polacks.

LOL!

Why do so many Canadian rock bands suck? The only good ones I can think of were the Band, or possibly Neil Young, and maybe the New Pornographers, but every other Canadian band I've heard sucks balls.

One thing Canadians should not be thankful for: their mushy brand of rock and roll.

Canada's Thanksgiving is actually in December, and it might even end up in January in a year's time if the dollar keeps doing what it's been doing.

Going back in time, I would say that Joni Mitchell and Gordon Lightfoot were pretty good -- still on my play list anyway.

Can't think of anything much worth listening to of the new Canadian bands though.

And being Canadians, why would they be grateful?

On the other hand . . .

. . . they do have Godspeed You Black Emperor!, and I think the New Pornographers are largely Canadian.

Better yet, they have at least one indispensable filmmaker: David Cronenberg.

Dude! What about Bryan Adams?

Okay, okay… Maybe Bryan Adams hasn’t given us that much for which to be thankful. April Wine was always fun though. And let's not forget one Mr. Neil Young.
