Risking their lives to help us?
by NipDishtowel
I believe it's more "risking their lives to help themselves." People from Iraq need to stay in Iraq until they get that mess straightened out. The last thing we need is more of those losers over here.

"Losers"...that's a pretty interesting way to describe people we are risking life and money trying to help.

If they were "winners", would they need help?

That's what I'm going to tell your child after I run him over with my car. If he was a winner he'd get off the pavement and ride his tricycle to the emergency room.

We invade Iraq; destroy their governemnt and their infrastructure leading to civil war and "ethnic cleansing" and now the people that helped us are in danger for they lives and they need to stay until they fix the mess that we created?

Not only is your argument immoral and uncaring it's just plain illogical.

Well, they thought they could improve their lives and those of their countrymen by helping American forces. They may have been wrong, but I don't see anything wrong with that.

They didn't make that mess, we did. Do you really think we don't have a responsibility for that mess?

I'm sorry, I missed the news reports of America's social services crumbling under the weight of shiftless Iraqi refugees. Iraqis are a miniscule fraction of immigrants in this country, and the Iraqis who helped American forces and can make it through the red tape to arrive here are certainly not going to be the dregs of that society.

It's our war, so the losers are us.

Whatever. If they were winners, we wouldn't have had to go there. They would've gotten rid of Saddam themselves, thrown off the mental shackles of the suicide cult that is Islam, and got on with the business of selling oil for a tidy profit. As it is, they were too stupid and lazy to do any of that, so we're stuck trying to unfuck hundreds of years of shiftlessness. Fuck the Iraqi people and fuck all the rest of the shitbags over there.

Why are you going to run you kid over?

Wrong. Their entire county is was and always has been a mess

My argument is not at all illogical. Iraqis need to stay in Iraq and fix their country. It was well broken before we invaded and it won't be fixed until they, themselves, take responsibility for it. Giving any of them any kind of hope that they might be able to dodge that responsibility by coming to the United States is counterproductive to the goal of having the Iraqis fix their shit.
