Hillary Clinton is running on pure, brutal, inside-the-beltway politics as usual. She fattens up her campaign coffers from the same corporatists who gave us Bush, issues slide off her like she's coated with teflon, and she'll say anything to get herself elected. Disingenuous is her middle name.
What disturbs me about Hillary isn't her womanhood. I'd be delighted to vote for a principled woman whose political stance was compatible with mine (mixed economy, responsible fiscal policy, regulating industry to protect consumers instead of corporations, no wars for oil, incentives and disincentives to move us to a non-CO2-emitting energy infrastructure, socialized medicine, restoration of Constitutional protections, etc.).
The simple fact is that Hillary's stance, when you can figure it out at all, isn't compatible with liberal philosophies. I'm amazed that the right wing isn't trampling all over each other in their haste to elect her - even if they have trouble swallowing the idea of a female President, she massages most of their sweet spots.
Hillary won't have my vote. I'll defect and vote Green if the Democrats choose her. I'm sick of the Democrats putting corporatist interests ahead of those of ordinary citizens', and if they keep doing it, they'll pay a price.
