The death penalty - what is wrong.
by Charmedguy18
In my opinion, the death penatly is wrong. How is it not hypocritical to take a life when one, or more, as already been taken? Murder is murder, whether or not it's of a mudered, or an innocent. The death penalty is a third-world, morally wrong practice, that doe nothing but scare people away from doing what they're already going to do. Of course, murderers are going to murder. If we could stop murder, we could do it. It's as simple as mandatory, government-paid, psychiatric tests that evaluate the patient as to whether they will be violent or not. And if they are going to be, enforce rehabilitation. This may be a 'waste' of tax dollars to you, or someone else, but when/if this is enstated, there will be less murder. Hear you me, there will be less. [paragraph] If the death penalty will not be outlawed, though, then a more moral and trusted method should be instated. A dose of bezos and an overdose of opiates should be made to morally put to death the criminal. There would be no pain, no panic, no worry, just quick, painless death. This is ONLY if the government finds it necessary to keep the dath penatly. [paragraph Though these moral alternatives will not be accepted for a long time, I hope one day they (hopefully the first one) will be enstated.

Anyone that thinks the Death penalty scares anyone from committing crimes is DREAMING!!!

And our society would not permit mass evaluations and forced psychiatric counseling before a crime is committed. That isn't constitutional. You have to wait until after they do something wrong. Our system is set up as punishment. The Constitution prescribes punishment AFTER the fact.

I know the solution to the death penalty. it may sound third world, but i think it someone is given the death penalty becuase they shot another human being in the head, that is the way they should die. If they torture somebody to death, they deserve to die in the same manner. and if some man rapes a woman and then slits her throat and lets her die slowly, they same should be done to him.

^5's to you!!

I agree with an eye for an eye.

I find one and ONLY one thing wrong with the dath penalty and, it is the DP itself but, how it is administered.

Too many people are on death row because of crooked cops/persecutors, etc.

The was/is a guy on death row in Va who is either still on death row or has been killed by Va because~~~~

HIS LAWYER WAS ONE DAY LATE IN FILING CERTAIN PAPERS.

WTF is that??!!

Some poeple DO neeed killing however, too many crooked cops/persecutors, etc do everything they can to disrupt the defene's access to exculp eviodence, DNA and other evidence.
These lowlife dirtbags ought to pay a penalty of loss of THEIR freedom by preventing someone to go free who they KNOW is innocent.

There will ALWAYS be those who say, "But they're not innocent, only not guilty."

BS semantics.
If these head in the sand dreamers do not understand the terrible and evil people in LE, are they choo9sing to ignore those undesirables such as nifong and many many others?
How about all those who were killed by texass because of zanr and yet another evidence tech~a woman?

I'm al for killing someone who deserves it however, I am NOT for killing someone when there is a doubt.

In my above post, I did a typo.

It should read "zane".

Well then you are Unamerican

Well if you believe in the "eye for eye" and revenge based system of justice, then I guess you don't believe in the US Constitution, the principles of the Criminal Justice system and in general the basic principles that we consider to be "American".

OK, but don't pretend otherwise
