Ridiculous (from a woman)

The author extrapolates from the (putative) longer wait time to the conclusion that women (a) don't like and (b) aren't equal consumers of specialty coffee. Observationally, that appears untrue - coffee shops are filled with women (like me).
More importantly, that conclusion is unrelated to the study data. The study says nothing about the relative numbers of men and women in coffee shops. If it were true that coffee shops have, say, a 60% male clientele, that would raise the question of why men favor the venue over women. But where's the evidence for that?
Also, in my personal experience (which certainly is not statistically significant), the male barristas are chattier with the female customers - even at times with long lines and high waits. I hope that doesn't count as "discrimination" these days. There's plenty of discrimination in the world, with important consequences for female underrepresentation, but I don't think it's at the coffee house.
