Dear Friend, I agree that manual gearbox is more efficient than an ordinary automatic gearbox, as long as the driver is experienced and focused on saving fuel. Actually, it's not rocket science. But an automatic gearbox is much more comfortable and easy to drive than handling a stick. Them I suggest the driver to prefer a CVT automatic gearbox. This new gearbox vary the spped of the car keeping the engine in constant low rotation. Metering the engine emissions on the dynamometer we found out the car with a CVT gearbox is more economic than a car with the stick. The exception is when you constantly kick down the gas pedal, what informs the engine that you need foll power instantly. But it's a driver, not engine, point to fix.
