First ,let me say I LOVE Slate-it's an always hip and informative social critique.NOW,back to Watson and dumb Negroes...White people always say Blacks aren't intelligent- What? You mean Whites WOULD consort with Blacks if their IQ's were as high, as say,the Jews? I doubt it.I don't think my self racy(ist),but how come Whites always say they dislike Blacks because of their IQ only? Sounds a little lame to me.I think it's because Whites aren't like Blacks overall(esp. old genius ones like Watson),so they blame the IQ.I think every race(Arab,Asian,Indian,White,a­nd Black) is different-different enough to have their own things,which they mainly do,even Blacks and not everyone in every race is smart and pretty,and those who are tend to get public acclaim..But I see many dumb ones,but many Blacks are intelligent acting everyday.They don't like other people and may act worse around them-and they have their own cultural behaviors they like to adhere to,so maybe they seem odd to White Man-but I think every race does the same basically.

It's me again. I think maybe the unmovable differences are what preserves a race intact,so that they exist at all.If Blacks were too smart, I guess all the Whites would marry them and they wouldn't be Black anymore....But i don't think that makes sense ,does it? And Watson would have a 'fro hairdo' and he wouldn't care as long as his Black Mommy or Daddy is Freakin' Intelligent with a high IQ,and doin' the world some good. Yeah, why don't they test everybody and all the Negroes with a high IQ can be bred to High IQ Whites-to make a super intelligent race with a 250 IQ on each side?? That's what Watson wants,apparently.But most dumb Blacks have enough sense not to burn down their houses,and I rarely see one in a car accident,decapitated,or jogging through the park at midnite unawares....no that's usually some other smarter race.

I know Blacks were brought here,so they may be some kind of subordinate-if fact in Biblical days every race was often physically subordinated to some other one,like the Jews to the Babylonians,and the Egyptians,and likewise the local Semites were put to death by the Jews when they came into power,as God instructed then to do.One tribe may always rule over and scorn another-maybe that can't be avoided-maybe that's life. But the Blacks were wanted and valued for their work,and homey and soulful ways,and longevity and still are.So White people lov 'em ,but not for their IQ.

If Blacks were in charge Whites would be called too White,too smart,too odd,and the Blacks would keep them on Welfare as Blacks always keep the high power jobs and Cadillacs for themselves.And Blacks would force-sleep- with one of the Whites if they saw a pretty one they liked,and gang beat up innocent Whites just for fun-tables would be turned.Blacks would treat Whites like Whites treat Blacks,it's just a matter who is in charge.

Well there probably are some smart ones,but the majority of this useless race can barely speak proper english,they just may very well be the missing link between man and ape.

And who the hell is saying that Whites dislike Blacks because of IQ? Most racism is based on either a fear of being mugged, of being raped, or having that happening to someone you know (or scape goating after such incidents happen, especially for the latter).

I believe the real issue here is hidden deep in American society. We have this deep fear that Watson may be right... so deep that we refuse to let the man talk. If we really feel he is wrong, and we have the evidence to back it up, why does he need to be excommunicated from society? Just say: the other wise smart man, has made an error in judgement here, and we have proof here, here, and here. By suspending him, not allowing his opinion to even be argued, you make it see like he is right, the best way to fight him, is to simply prove him wrong, rather than send him to the 7th circle of hell. The fear here is obvious, its not even the intelligence part, its the part that says the races are different, something that we in America have tried for so very long to deny. (Personally i have very little doub that the races are similar enough that intelligence, and other important aspects of the brain or the same, or virtually the same, to the point that intelligence is equal.) But when we run him out of town with torches, we justify his argument.

OMG, what is wrong with you people. I am so sick and tired of some black people saying that white people hate them and are out to get them. That is a completely racist and blanket judgement. Most white people have no problem with blacks.

That said, regarding IQ, there are a wide variety of scores in all races and ethnicities. I have had black friends, co-workers, associates, and professors who were unbelievably intelligent. The thing is, people of all races and backgrounds are individuals and should be viewed as such.

Finally, to all racist black people (and you know who you are), start treating others as you would like to be treated, like Jesus taught. You don't want blanket judgements and accusations applied to you just because of your race, so stop doing it to white people just because of their race.

Sometimes generalizations like median age and IQ, though useful for identifying a problem, are useless for solving the problem on an individual basis. It is an obvious given that a mind that has developed in one environment is going to be at a disadvantage when tested in another. Ongoing interpretation of the results being gleaned from the human genome project make it clear that our genes are not the final arbiter of performance ability that they were thought to be. I earlier used the word developed in a sentence, whereas ten years ago I would have used the word evolved. The latter, is a process taking place over thousands of years, whereas human development is a day to day occurrence, even for the aged as has also been established fairly recently. The clincher, which lightens the life sentence element some people find implicit in Watson's and Jensen's findings, is that RNA which actually switches on and off portions of the genetic program, is also transmissible through reproduction. This means that not only can blacks, and whites for that matter, get smarter (more adaptive) to new environments over time, but conversely, unfortunately, we can also get dumber or fatter, because our mothers smoke, drink, and eat like pigs when we are in the womb!

So what did your mother do to you in the womb to make you so fearful of these people that you have to empower yourself with childish imprecations. Did she smoke, drink, do drugs or did a black man beat up a prostitute somewhere? (i.e. 'ya momma! :-)

These are very intelligent observations, however couldn't attitude and ambition overcome genetics? Keeping it real is the dumbing down of the blacik culture.
