I find myself curious as to the political leanings of the people who frequent the Fray.

Quick poll question: On a scale of 1 to 10 where 1 was extreme left and 10 was extreme right, where would you place yourself?

You won't get an honest answer here, except on the left. Have you not noticed the individuals who spew red, until they are confronted? Then, they either claim "independent" or outrightly lie and state they are "not Republicans". The individuals who are truthful here, make no equivocation of it.

I didn't ask if they were republicans. I asked about the direction of political leaning. I am rather suprised at some of the arguments made in the fray given I assumed Slate attracted a bluer than normal audience, and am simply trying to reconcile that perception with reality.

There are conservative democrats (Texas has plenty of them) and there are liberal republicans (Bloomberg for example is plenty liberal compared to some southern dems).

You're quite right, but you only have to read the content of the posts to delineate the political leaning of the poster. MY point was that you will not necesarily get accurate response.

The Fray leans left, not everyone (like myself) but I would say the majority lean left.

I am not a Republican, I am however a unapolegetic hawk when it comes to foreign policy, aside from that you would find very little about me that would go over well with the republicans, such as abortion, gay rights etc.
