Brain mass to body mass ratio: To put it simply, brains have more
free wiring to devote to abstract thought when bodies are thin. When
people are fat or really muscular that means more nerve endings of their brains
not devoted to other things. However, being too thin might cause the
brain to become smaller - and balancing the brain mass/body mass ratio
wisely is hard.
However, the summer before last I lost about twenty pounds fairly
quickly because I was active and had become a vegamitarian, and I laid
down and found myself able to read four hundred pages of a book at a
single sitting! I rarely am able to that when well fed and sluggish.
There are body types that allow for this dynamic more than others, I
think. However, there are probably allot of variables I haven't
accounted for such as privacy, change of environment, low stress
lifestyle different lighting etc.
