AL, PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME WHY YOU AND ALL YOUR COHORTS HAVE DETERMINED THAT THE TEMPERATURE OF THE PLANET TODAY IS THE CORRECT TEMPERATURE. SCIENCE HAS PROVEN THAT THE PLANET HAS BEEN MUCH COOLER AND WARMER THAN IT IS TODAY, YET YOU HAVE DETERMINED THAT THIS CURRENT TEMPERATURE IS THE OPTIMUM-HOW ARROGANT!! LET'S REMEMBER THAT IT WAS ONLY THIRTY YEARS AGO THAT GLOBAL COOLING WAS GOING TO DESTROY THE PLANET. OF COURSE THE POLITICAL WIND HAS CHANGED SINCE THEN, SO NOW GLOBAL WARMING FITS YOUR AGENDA. AND MAKE NO MISTAKE-THIS A POLITICAL ISSUE,NOT A GLOBAL ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUE,OTHERWISE COUNTRIES LIKE CHINA AND INDIA WOULD NOT BE EXEMPT FROM THE KYOTO TREATY.

I would agree that this issue is more political than factual.

Unfortunately, the fact that people like you and Walt88 don't believe in global warming does not actually negate the existence or severity of the problem. If it did, you can be sure I'd do my part and jump on the "It's just a political ploy" bandwagon faster than you can say "wishful thinking."

I would be happy to explain to you just why global climate change is dangerous. If you really want to discuss it rationally, post back without caps.
