Innocent until Proven Guilty
by San

"Some, including investigative journalist Nadya Labi, document allegations that sexual abuse is widespread in Amish communities and that state intervention is minimal. It all adds up to a degree of widespread tolerated lawbreaking that would likely lead other Americans to prison."

To put those two sentences together is to claim that the Amish are breaking the law.

They have not been tried. Therefore, you cannot legally say they are breaking the law, or that we are tolerating "lawbreaking". We are innocent until proven guilty.

The above quote is libel and it does not belong in any legitimate piece of reporting. It is disgusting to badmouth the Amish and accuse them of being sexual abusers without any proof let alone a court case convicting them as such.

Also, does Tim not understand that the First Amendment, one of our most supreme of laws, protects religions! The Amish are a religious organization. To say they are breaking the law by practicing their religion violates the First Amendment! Therefore, Wu cannot make such a claim.

Yep. Amish = Catholics. Makes sense to me.

Done trolling?
Re: Innocent until Proven Guilty

If I was going to "troll" for ass, I would probably want to frequent a Catholic's threads. But I'll take a pass. I like girls my own age.

I'm going to report you for spamming soon.

San, I'm surprised you don't have the Fray Editor's personal phone number, and a restraining order against you currently under consideration.

I have tried many times to engage you rationally, but that has been proven impossible. Many of my fellow Fraysters have had similar experiences. In fact, it's pretty much a bipartisan conclusion that you are a nutcase. Congratulations on uniting the liberals and the conservatives, San.

I love the way San jumps to conclusions. Hey San! Go look up the word "allegations" and tell me where it implies proof. Again, you base you entire argument on your own assumptions before you understand exactly what it is that is actually happening.

"I have tried many times to engage you rationally, but that has been proven impossible."

If your definition of rational is trying to connect Amish with Catholicism, then you need to be in a mental hospital.

"Go look up the word "allegations" and tell me where it implies proof"

The word "alleged" doesn't come up. What comes up is the idea that they are lawbreakers. Look at that last line. Does it say alleged lawbreakers? NO.

Re: Innocent until Proven Guilty

Since you are too retarded to read clearly:

"It all adds up to a degree of widespread tolerated lawbreaking"

Thats not an allegation. Thats a declaration of criminality. That IS libel.

Re: Innocent until Proven Guilty

It qualifies it right up front but that doesn't fit your argument model, does it?
Re: Innocent until Proven Guilty

I was referring to other threads.

"Some, including investigative journalist Nadya Labi, document allegations that sexual abuse is widespread in Amish communities and that state intervention is minimal. It all adds up to a degree of widespread tolerated lawbreaking that would likely lead other Americans to prison."

First paragraph of your trip down nonsense road. Suffer from short term memory loss? Too much gange?

Re: Innocent until Proven Guilty

"It adds up to" does not qualify it in the sense of alleged, but is a declaration of fact that there is illegal activity committed by the Amish! That is libel! How can you not understand that?
