Guys and Dolls
by Eukaryote
There was a fantastic documentary on Real Dolls (the dolls which I assume this movie was referring to) on the BBC.

Don't get me wrong, I think that guys who are into these Real Dolls have real issues, and are at a strange position on the fetish scale.

However, I think that merely saying "the guy fell in love with a doll, he's sick" is too black and white. The documentary, especially, shows the true emotional attachment that these men feel for their "lovers." I think that merely dismissing them out of hand as creepy leaves out a whole spectrum of nuance that you're missing.

The doc details the lives of numerous people, and you can see that men go for these women for multiple reasons, ranging from Norman Bates-style mother attachment, to social awkwardness, to misogyny, down to treating women as toys, rather than people. The range of seeing people treating the dolls with true care to using them to prop up tables is incredible.

From the Erotic Magnetic Poetry Kit - my thoughts on why guys like fake women:

Mount the rubber Woman.

Scream dirty dog joy above her pudding ass.

Worship the Apparatus Girl.

She wants only Air.
