This article expresses (better than I ever have been able to) why I am such a college football fan, even though I have never played the game. The "communal experience" that a football stadium can become is truly special. I still remember feeling at one with the 70,000 other college football fans screaming and singing in unison at my first game. It is that feeling that makes me fly back each season for at least one game, even though my college days are over.
