If this church is so fundamentalist, I'm sure she's already been taught that other religions and most other denominations are evil.

When I was younger I had to go to a Baptist church and they were always talking about how the Catholics weren't really Christians because they prayed to saints and the Methodists mostly weren't Christians because they were so comparatively liberal, and so on.

I have a feeling that even if the father were so inclined to take her to other types of churches, she would have already been taught about how evil they were, and would cry some more.

and kids cry about it all the time. The father should make her eat her veggies too, even if she cries. Her crying is not the issue. The issue is the most effective way to reverse the harm that the mother has selfishly caused the child.

It's very hard to be 13. I believe this father would do better to leave his daughter alone about this and just try to be there for her. It seems to me that he is doing exactly what he wants her not to do. He won't be tolerant of her beliefs, but he asks her to be tolerant of his. I feel for her. She ought to be allowed to freely express her beliefs, and if he disagrees, he can express it midly. She's unlikely to stop being a Christian becuase he berates her; that will only alienate their relationship. She is almost to the time in her life when she can sever her relationship with him. If he doesn't want that, he had better give a little.

If he goes about this properly he can have a daughter who is a Christian and knows more about the rest of the world than she seems to know at this point. It's not too late for this, but he needs to teach her respect for others by example rather than by lecture.
