The modern concept of instinct more or less came in with the arrival of psychology in the latter part of the 19'th century and was honed in the last century by the following criteria:

To be considered instinctual a behavior must a) be automatic, b) be irresistible, c) occur at some point in development, d) be triggered by some event in the environment, e) occur in every member of the species, f) be unmodifiable, and g) govern behavior for which the organism needs no training (although the organism may profit from experience and to that degree the behavior is modifiable). Speaking strictly in those terms what is the Human instinct?? I used to think that sexuality was a dead ringer until the arrival of the alternate lifestyle with its plethora of variations including man-horse love.

Is there anything that you do on a regular basis that is automatic, Irresistible, part of your development, triggered by the environment, governs behavior for which you need no training?... There aren't too many things that fit that criteria strictly although cigarette smoking comes close. About the only thing I can think of is a bowel movement.

I wonder if something can become instinctual or if in the very process of learning we disqualify it as such.

Do we instinctually gravitate toward people of the same skin color and away from people of different skin color or is that just prejudice?

Is it instinct when we reach for a Big Mac instead of a Salad?

The instinctual response to eliminate digested matter from our bowels is more than instintctual...it becomes almost automatic; likewise the desire and instinct to drink liquids or eat food is almost instinctual.Some survive through feeding by other medical internal methods.

Bear in mind that these two conditions of instinctua behavior preclude an individual having normal functioning within their physical entities. Obviously a colostomy can change some of that; as well as those who have to ingest food and linquid through other means than through the mouth eating apparatus' chewing, swallowing, digesting, eliminating. All these two basic responses are one instinctual process as part of the species to continue their survival and preservation.

There are also instinctual behaviours that one can develop, through hard practice of thinking and acting behaviour over time. These are those individuals who are learned in the martial arts and instinctually can react in ways to ensure their protection and preservation. Instintual behaviour is learned...except for the bowel movement which is actually just part of the one learned behaviour...to eat and drink through the mouth orifice. Once food gets into the system, it follows a path that nature has made instinctual: chew, swallow, digest, eliminate. All one flowing process.

Likewise walking as a biped is instinctual, except for those who don't have legs. The walking process is also as instinctual to the human as bowel movements are to all species. Have you ever seen little baby peregrine falcons in a nest automaticlly eject a little bird poop? And they were only a week or two old...and the OracleFalcon Cam that I saw this activity showed a little peregrine falcon chick stumbling about on its wobbly little falcon legs just automatically "eject" a stream...yes...it automatically streamed out like a little jet poopy...

Another insintctual behaviour that can be triggered by the environment is the desire to preserve one's life...and such instinctual behaviour can be either an immediate silent prayer to a "GOD", a cry for help, a behaviour in which one sides with captors, but these are all learned in that you teach yourself instantly to modify behaviour to preseve your physical life...however that may result into what actions occur at the moment.

Another insintual behaviour can be those who are gifted with musical talent and can simply create out of nothing, no triggers in the environment needed, no learning process needed, music that is a delight to hear...such as one finds in a MOZART entity. But this does not fall into the truly physical instinctual behaviour...it somehow ends up becoming a learned reaction and behavioural process of functioning and acting.

So many people have that happen to them and they just go "bananas" when they "fallin love"...now that is an instinctual and natural behaviour. "Falling In Love" can occur in relation with other humans, with other objects , with animals , with anything that captivates one's soul and spirit and makes one "fall in love" and feel emotions of a kind and caliber that one did not know one had. This instinct to "love" is probably one of the most profound and basic instincts that a human has...and it not only affects their physical being but also something else within them, their mind, emotions, spirit and soul life. That is why we are humans and why we communicate here today. Falling in love is profound...and can revitalize every aspect of life within a human...

100. The Law of Unconditional Love. This is a condition as well as a law of third dimension living. Loving ourselves and other people as they are, is honoring self and another's self and soul path. It is loving without judgement or reservation, an awareness we are all part of God or the All. When we love without condition or restraint we connect in a profound manner with our own higher self. We notice that we say the right things at the right time in our communication with others while loving unconditionally. Life and events seem to flow to us in a more joyous and agreeable manner. Everything seems easy when living in unconditional love.

101. The Law of Unity. We are all connected, all bearing the seed of Divinity. This is the way we start, and the way we develop into eternity. It is only while in third dimension physical form, and because of the greater separation of our higher self from the personality, we experience the illusion that we stand alone. 104. The Law of Will of God. The creators of our world carry out their work of form-building under this law. God's working has to do with things free from change and movement - things divine. It is God's will that what is human should be divine, and therefore all creation pushes forth to the God Light. God is all good, and it is by reason of the Good that all other things exist.

105. The Law of Will Power. This law concerns the individual drive within a soul extension/personality which is projected from the complete entity. The individual developing soul extension differs in degree of will power from its other entity extensions/soul family members. Depending on the conditions of an incarnational experience and the incoming will of this extension, the personality can possess a drive to accomplish something that may seem overwhelming to others in the soul family and/or other incarnational personalities (friends). This law depicts the right and condition of each personality or soul extension to generate it's own degree of will power.

All it takes is for a superb personality to appear on the horizon, like a Hercules who comes to what is possible within the human perspective...and VOILA...one falls into the deep end of the human vortex of emotions....and there goes the garlic necklac. Keeping one away from such a hercules is an impossible thing to try to do...not even Garlic with all its powers to dispel and keep vampires away, can happen.

We all want to fall in love...it is the most refreshing thing that can happen to the human spirit. That is probably why eventually, humans fall in love with GOD because GOD is always there for them.

I think most of what we call "instinct" is actually the result of socialization.

Children learn the norms they're expected to follow. Social comparison...social sanctions (even the right look, honey), and propaganda...all play a part.

that's about the most basic instinctual behaviour the body has. you cannot "LEARN" or "UNLEARN" how to poop...the bowels have their own ways of doing things and the body just goes along with instinct. When you feel like going, you simplly let go...

Instinct is a type of subconscious behavious which ought to be one that preserves the body and life...hence the body ejects all that it as ingested after fulle and due assiimilation. Like wise, gasping for air...it is an instinctual behaviour. Pooping, eating sleeping and fucking...all great instincs.

Sleeping, eating, breathing, pooping and fucking.

All natural instinctual and instincts of the human species.

It is part of the natural instincts existing for the species to survive a long time, a lifetime.

Yeah....simply used one of the long lost banned passport emails of me own, then added in this Nick, from long ago, used this new nick and VOILA...'tis A Sleighing We Will Go !!! Bring Back ShoSumSac...too...as well...the new Fray doesn't apparently retain the old passport-disabling software that had the tables and bit settings to identify past passports that were disabled/banned, it seems. So try it with SSSac...Mebbe UHA can return, using that same UHA passport but try a new nick, just for kicks to try it out!
