Hey if everyone could be honest for a second they will admit to the simple fact that Jewish lobbyists are not better at making their points to Senators and Congressmen on Capitol Hill. They are simply better, and more willing, to use emotional blackmail.

No one wants to vote against what the state of Israel wants because you don't want to be the guy who goes against "poor Israel." The general belief in Washington is that the Jews have suffered in Hitler's hand and they don't want to be the cause of anymore of their suffering by refusing to give in to any of their demands. Give Israel what it wants so it can finally be happy.

Children have been using emotional blackmail on their parents for millennia. Emotional blackmail has a success rate of 90 percent. The Jewish lobbies in Washington did not have to reinvent the wheel. They just had to follow the formula.

These lobbyists have no shame in bringing out the "A" word in conversations with Congressmen, Senators, and I would even say presidents.

I wouldn’t be surprised if during meetings with Senators and Congressmen the lobbyists don't say something resembling this sentence "Either you vote for what we are asking for, or we are going to slander you so bad, you'd wish you were never elected to this office." No running around the subject just straight talk.

Of course, emotional blackmail is way more economical and than bribery which is not as effective. Why buy a congressman plane tickets to play golf with 10 of closest friends if all you have to do is have a little chat with him.

Telling a congressman you are going to call them an "anti-Semite," unless he votes for what you want, is an automatic win. The other lobbyists on Capitol Hill must be so damn jealous. If the car industry lobbyists could just say to a Senator "Sir, if you don't vote against this bill requiring that the gas per mileage on trucks go up, we are going to call you an "anti-car person” worked, these guys would only have to show up for work when there was a bill about to pass, and go on vacation the rest of the year.

The bottom line is that lobbying is a business. I really can't fault the Jewish Lobbies for getting what they want using any means necessary. It is not their job to play fair on Capitol Hill. Their job is to get results. If it gets result to scare a few Senators here and there with threats of labeling them “Anti-Semite,” than so be it.

But it is a Senator's responsibility to say to a lobbyist that is using guilt and history to blackmail him into voting a certain way, to get out of their office. And if states to that lobbyist that if he remotely thinks about calling you an "anti-Semite" for not wanting to go to war to protect Israel's interest, that he would expose him so fast, he’d wish that he never came into his/her office."

But I am a dreamer. I know our lawmakers have no balls. And I know that the state of Israel will continue to use this childish method of getting what it wants, because it’s effective. And I can't really fault the lawmakers because "mommy, if you love me, you would be me ice cream," works on me all the time. I am a sucker for emotional blackmail.

Equally as useful and successful is the tactic of basically saying "If you dont vote the way we want, we will take all those campaign contributions we WERE going to give to you, triple them, and then give those $$ to whoever your opponent is in the next election. Oh yeah and we're going to smear you as an anti-semite in the media too." Subliminal or direct I'll bet that conversation goes on in Washington almost daily.

You certainly hit on one thread of the equation (to use a mixed metaphor), but as the post following yours notes, there is more to this issue than can be encapsulated in a single-cause argument. There's no question that the Israel lobby is "special" because of the mythos surrounding the holocaust, and thus your accurate identification of the perennial use of emotional blackmail.--And no, I am NOT a holocaust denier in its simplistic form, but there is evidence things did not happen quite as represented in the official version of history, and there are many enduring questions that do cast doubts on some of the more egrgious claims concerning that dark era of history. To put it in context, one has to wonder why it is illegal all over Europe to even question this official story. You would think a self-evident truth need not the force of punative action to make itself obvious. Can you imagine being arrested for claiming the sun doesn't rise in the East? But that's another tangent.

Emotional blackmail is a heavy component, but finances are certainly another. And here, to broach another bright-line of taboo subjects, it might be profitable to take a gander at the people--the PRIVATE BANKERS--who own the Federal Reserve, an institution that is neither Federal, nor a Reserve, but which somehow has been put in charge of printing US currency, determining interest rates, and deciding US economic policy.

Add to this the undeniable sway that certain interests groups have in the equally powerful arena of mass media, and you have a relatively iron-clad strangle hold on all appendages responsible for "controlling the message."

Add to this the fact that we are talking about a group of tribes that, during the middle ages, were both 100% literate AND were allowed to practice usury, and you have the historical roots of a vast store of accumulated wealth. Now throw in a dash of megalomania, as only one of "God's Chosen People" can experience it, and you have a relatively stiff brew to ingest, along with healthy side orders of cultural guilt externalized as paranoia, Xenophobia, and history of bloodthirsty militancy to rival the Vikings. Hopefully this goes a little way to explaining the disproportionate influence of aforementioned interest group, and despite the fact that all these allegations have been cast under the rubric of anti-Semitism, it is helpful to observe the source of their gestation before tossing the baby out with the bathwater.

Wow!! The same argument used against those that speak of "racism", "sexism", alien (or immigrant) animous, or the economic disparity in the U.S. Also against those that point out to abandonment of U.S. ideals. It is "emotional blackmail" unless you are yourself making the argument.
