so there is a slippery slope
by reader_boston

I've been arguing for a long time against the reactionaries who say that gay marriage is some kind of socially inoculating precusor to pedophilia.

And so what does this genius do? Proves them right!

You ideas are disgusting.

So, here we spending valuable For those of us who spend time and energy arguing against those trying to stop gay marriage.

In what way does Saletan's article prove them right? What evidence is there that the existence of his story is in any way tied to gay marriage (which is lawful in exactly one U.S. state)?

In early America, as the article points out, the age of consent ranged from 10 to 12 years old. Was gay marriage the socially innoculating precursor to that?

What does this have to do with the price of Eggs.

I agree with the author of the article we're discussing and I also agree that gay marriage should be as legal as straight marriage.
