Oh Dear! Far be it from me to suggest that the majority of whites and blacks in America are sick of the "po me" baloney. Whites have realized that they were wrong or I should say, that minority of the southern whites have awkwardly admitted to being wrong and many blacks have realized that slavery was a way of the world and white people enslaved other white people for thousands and thousands of years before the black tribal enemies captured and sold todays african american ancestors, their women and children into slavery in the caribbean colonies [not just north america]. Though it appears, mainly through the news media, that blacks are reluctant to give up their "oppressed" status to illegal aliens, predominantly mexicans. Sigh...and we thought all was going well.

I disagree.

I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to say. My guess is you want to say that white liberal media is saying we should feel sorry for O.J. because he's black? The article doesn't even mention the word "black".

The Jena Six events have proven that racial tensions are still prevalent in the US. It's ignorant attitudes among many whites that everything is hunky dory and squared away that's doing black people a lot of harm these days.

There's so much racism in America lurking just below the surface. It's still harder for a black person to make it in America than it is for whites. That shouldn't be used as an excuse, but White Liberal Patriots should be aware that there's still a long road ahead and that people need to be educated, so that they understand that there really is no such thing as race, biologically speaking.

Equal rights has only been given lip service. Many American hearts still hold prejudices against people who are perceived to be different based on skin color. It's going to take quite a few generations to eliminate it.

Apologists like you want people to think slavery was OK. Or that it was only those damn Southerners. That it was somehow normal at the time. It wasn't. You probably think 1964 was a long time ago too. It's really a disgrace that blacks didn't get the right to vote in the US until 1964. We basically had apartheid in the US until 1964! It's not that long ago. Most of the people in power today grew up before blacks got the right to vote. Back when racial discrimination was not only OK, but supported by the LAW.

Your racist comment has proven my point. The article had nothing to do with race, but you had to try to inject some sort of racial element into it.

"The Jena Six events have proven that racial tensions are still prevalent in the US." WRONG. It proves that high school rivalries that included minor racial slurs and tension led to a provoked felonious assualt on a student in a podunk cow town that allowed loud mouthed rabble rousers to blow the situation all out of proportion. All three sides are wrong in the actions they took.

SZKOTT - Sounds like you don't want the 'bad old days' to end. Love that old Muhammed Ali, in your face, whiney assed crybaby "Ahz gots mah raghts!".

Nobodies listening anymore. It's boring. Whites were slaves to whites for thousands of years before we wasted our time enslaving blacks who were sold into slavery by BLACKS.

BORING.

Right, so there are no racial tensions... we're all so enlightened now. haha.

Liberal Patriot:

All three sides are wrong in the actions they took.

That's right. Both [all three] sides were wrong, but one side is being punished too harshly the other not enough - where's the equality in that?

It's a typical case of whites looking after their own... of a justice system that is biased. Of skin-color still being an issue.

I guess it's a "minor racial slur" to hang nooses in trees, right?
