Ahmedinejad or Gore - WTF CNN???
by AdamSonOfJohn
So I'm sitting in India with full cable and Ahmedinejad is giving a "hilarious" speech and playing a great game of dodgeball in regards to the tough questions, all of which I'm sure you already know so I won't repeat them. Just to some up what highlights I got through before being rudely interupted, Ahmedinejad had this to say:

1. Iran has no homosexuals like the US does, so that answers the question of why Iran executes them...they don't need to since they don't have any...or is it they don't have to because they've already killed them all?

2. Asked clearly, and directly twice, Ahmedinejad just can't answer whether or not he wishes Israel destroyed.

BBC News isn't playing the speech at all, so all we have here is CNN International. And in the middle of the f$*#*ing thing, CNN breaks in, and decides to go to a live interview of Al Gore talking about global warming........again.

Couldn't CNN just wait 15 minutes? Just 15 MINUTES! We've seen Al Gore; all of us. Now we want to see a guy defend himself who will very likely be getting bombed by us within 9 months to a year form now.

No wonder we're "losing our credibility" in the rest of the world..... they don't get to watch to understand what our gripes are about when the 1 or 2 channels they can watch don't show entire important interviews.

This just makes me hate Al Gore more.

You see, the US and Iran have a great deal in common. They both have idiots for presidents.

You're only now beginning to realise that?

Thanks for mentioning that, Neolefty. I've often confused the two. One is supplying missiles to the Iraqis and the other may be supplying missiles to the Iraqis. One threatens to overthrow a sovereign nation the other overthrew a sovereign nation. One gives long, unintelligable speeches the other gives short, unintelligable speeches. One denies rights to gays, one denies gays exist. It goes on and on....

"One denies rights to gays, one denies gays exist. It goes on and on...."

Right because we know how hanging gay people vs denying them the right of bridal registry are basically the same the thing.

Such moral equivalency in historical terms would mean that during WWII the Nazi party and Brook-lawn Golf club would have been more or less the same.

The 'we have no gays in Iran,' statement by Ahmedinejad is 20 to 30 percent dumber than anything George Bush said while drunk and wearing a toga back at the frat house.

Of course there is the possibility that the bag man for the Mullahs actually believes there are no gays in Iran, which would make him insane, not funny.

That's funny, you defend Ahmedinejad so often and so enthusiastically one wonders, "Do you realize that the President of Iran is an idiot?" Thank heaven for small favors. I'll be watching to make sure it remains a consistent theme with you.

I'd say the attitudes of the Brooklawn Golf Club, if they had the wide audience of say, George Bush, would indeed bear some culpability in the persecution of the Jews. Some say it was the upper-crust blue-blood anti-semitic attitudes that kept the US from engaging Hitler sooner. I assume you know about the Jewish refugees that were turned away by the US.

George Bush has a huge audience and a big pulpit. His actions, or lack of, encourage others to hang on to their prejudices and in some cases act on them. By integrating the military Truman advanced civil rights. By denying gays the same rights as others Bush sets civil rights back.

Of course George Bush may actually believe there are no gays in the Republican party, which would make him insane, not funny.

I don't have time to refute everything that you amplified out of context and pure truth, but in regards to the US overthrowing a sovereign nation, it's already been established by the laws of the United Nations that Iraq was no longer a sovereign nation for violating all four of the criteria they set forth.

The most obvious being it's involvement in genocide.

Does Genocide bother you?
