Exactly. My sentiments to a "T" I worked for a Company in the late70's and early 80's that emloyed primarily illegal aliens. I have no problem with a person coming into this Country legally and getting any job they are qualified for, or even going to a school or technical course to become educated and trained for a specific job (by the way, that happens all the time to fine individuals who are here "LEGALLY").
What I do have a problem with is, an individual coming into the Country illegally and working. The people who worked for the company I was employed for, had fake Social Security Cards (which is also very illegal). If the INS raided the company on Friday, they were back to work by Tuesday of the next week, and the company held their jobs open for them.
One of the main factors in the breakdown, I believe is the employment practices of unscruitable employers who will give a job with little or no documentation of citizenship, and blame it on "Good fake documents" as the cause of why they were caught with a multitude of illegals working for them. And I have in fact seen U.S citizens turned away from a job, because "there were no openings".
The fence is just a part of a fix. You cant lock the front door and then leave your windows open. More Immigration laws aren't the answer either.
Ever wonder what happened to the troops on the Borders? Their numbers have been drastically reduced. Not much said about it huh? That's because the Federal Govenrmnent is also a business.
Hiring someone to do a job for less money makes good business sense. It is what the American Business system is based on. Doing the best with as little expense as possible.Senators and Congressmen who have a vested interest in keeping illegal aliens an abundant source of manpower would certainly not vote to enact stricter laws or even uphold the ones already on the books. There are Senators and Congressmen in Washington, that I firmly believe would sell this Country up the river if they were offered enough by a Political Action Committee, if they aren't doing it already.
The illegal alien problem is entrenched so far into the Americal culture now, that people believe being an illegal is O.K. and that they should have rights.
I believe they should have a right to be processed out of the Country humanely, and then offered to come back in the front door by legal means. After that, then by all means give them the same rights you would give an american worker.
Saying we don't need foreign workers would be incorrect, saying we don't need illegal aliens is prudent and goes along with the laws of this country.
I have to wait for everything from my income tax to a visit to the doctor, why shouldn't someone have to wait and do the right thing when becomming an American Citizen or before applying for employment in this Country
