Scrubs - My Life in Four Cameras
by QED

I don't see how this article could pass up the TV show Scrubs, which has been doing laugh track-less comedy since 2001 (much longer than Earl and Sports Night).

In particular, the episode "My Life in Four Cameras" is noteworthy because of it's homage to the multi-camera, live audience era.

In general, the show gets much less credit than it deserves from critics and the public alike.

Partially because the quality went downhill very quickly. The first season and a half is untouchable and the 'concept' episodes are usually pretty good too (Scrubs Musical, My Way Home) but the show often gets too goofy for its own good. I hate to say that I miss the life lessons of the earlier part of the show. I miss when the younger doctors were foolish, not moronic. I miss when the Janitor was clever and when Cox was funny. He was the most interesting character on television when he was a self-destructive narcissist who saw life as a never-ending quest for perfection and genuinely wanted to help JD ("because JD cares..."). Now he's just a ranting ass**** with a giant ego.

There -- now I'm ranting...

On the chronology, you're right on My Name is Earl but wrong on Sports Night, which had already come and gone before Scrubs first aired.
