this is utter tripe for the following reasons:

1) lack of moral imagination:

this is to say that we should suspend logic in favor of some sort of emotional symapthy. there's no reason for it other than to feel warm and fuzzy. emotions should play no role in policy making.

2) red herrings of neighbors:

if we should support israel because we support egypt and saudi arabia...

maybe we should stop supporting any of them!

3) threat of a second holocaust:

because the united states doesn't already have its head so far up the GI track of the rest of the world, we might miss something.
