Don't take away our health insurance
by Sum Yokel
Just another debate between groups, one group trying to solve a problem and the other outraged that they are trying to change anything. No disputant should be taken seriously before first declaring publicly who their health care provider is. Who is John Voight's provider and how does he pay for his health care? How about Michele Bachmann? Whose point of view do they represent except their own and perhaps the large group of angry rabble who do not understand the issues and who lack the wherewithal to find out?

Michele Bachmann we know
by Trebuchet

She receives the best socialized (see, it sounds like socialist!) medicine money can buy.

If we all had a universal health plan that looked like the plan that Congress and the President get I think it would be hard to complain about anything.

Terbuchet, I'm all for universal health care, but I have to correct the misinformation. The President gets superb healthcare becaue he is the President. The Congress folk, however, get to pick from a seies of plans listed in an exchange. I know because I get access to those same plans. Are they good? Yes, but I've actually seen better and cheaper at the State level. Are they cheap. No. Not even close. In fact, if rates continue to rise at the same level as the past 7 years, I'll be paying $1500 a month at the end of the next 7.

Treb says "if you cant afford it, fuck you, dont get sick, and if you do get sick, die quickly." That is the new republican mantra.

Congress gets the same health care choices as any other federal employees.
