Nidal Malik Hasan is not a terrorist.....
by Pogue Mahone

....and the attack on Ft. Hood was not an act of terrorism. Terrorists target civilians, not the military. This was an act of jihad, an act of war. Hasan is a traitor.

You make a good point.

But this is the Obama administration. Even now, Obamites are busy here on BB trying everything they can to make excuses for Hasan. And others outside of BB are doing the same. I doubt Obama would see him as anything but some poor misunderstood, mistreated fellow that we should all do a group hug with.

you're an idiot

and I have a flair for the obvious
What's the Obama administration line, I've been hunting?

Is he a freedom fighter who died in the line of duty? Has Obie apologized to his family? Excuse my ignorance, I've been off killing a deer, not watching TV.

Going "postal" in the workplace is not called jihad.
Would you consider that...

Unarmed soldiers could be "noncombbtant targets?"

United States Law Code – the law that governs the entire country – contains a definition of terrorism embedded in its requirement that Annual Country reports on Terrorism be submitted by the Secretary of State to Congress every year. (From U.S. Code Title 22, Ch.38, Para. 2656f(d)

(d) Definitions
As used in this section—
(1) the term “international terrorism” means terrorism involving citizens or the territory of more than 1 country;
(2) the term “terrorism” means premeditated, politically motivated violence perpetrated against noncombatant targets by subnational groups or clandestine agents;
(3) the term “terrorist group” means any group, or which has significant subgroups which practice, international terrorism;
(4) the terms “territory” and “territory of the country” mean the land, waters, and airspace of the country; and
(5) the terms “terrorist sanctuary” and “sanctuary” mean an area in the territory of the country—
(A) that is used by a terrorist or terrorist organization—
(i) to carry out terrorist activities, including training, fundraising, financing, and recruitment; or
(ii) as a transit point; and
(B) the government of which expressly consents to, or with knowledge, allows, tolerates, or disregards such use of its territory and is not subject to a determination under—
(i) section 2405(j)(1)(A) of the Appendix to title 50;
(ii) section 2371 (a) of this title; or
(iii) section 2780 (d) of this title.

I don't know what the party line is, but unfortunately Hasan is not dead....he was only wounded.

I'm not sure I agree with you that it was an act of "jihad" or that it wasn't a terrorist act, but I do agree it was a treasonous act. Now that we have agreed that the guy should be up for charges of treason, let's let the military justice system do its thing, OK?
Excuse and Analysis are not the Same

Charles Manson had an insane stupid offensive reason for brain-washing his followers to commit terrorism - but it was key to the presecition's case that put him in prison for life.

I am an Obamaite (I guess) and I do hope the investigators examine the motivation in order to gain insight into this and other possible cases like it!

I think you want to blame the left for this crime, and this is the best you can do - not very good.

An act of war?

While I agree that it was a terrorist act, I think the UCMJ is going to be applied. The guy was in the military.

Military targets are often bombed from above even when nobody in them are actively aiming guns at the bombers. We would bomb our enemies if they were training or gathering to deploy.

I wonder at the left's opposition to my assertion that Hasan is not a terrorist. Is it because I am not denying he is a terrorist in order to paint him in a more sympathetic light? A soldiers who turns on his own fellow troops in a time of war is a traitor, whether it is during active combat or not, and should be treated as such.

Can you back this silliness up with anything
by Thumper2

except your vivid imagination when it comes to 'the Obama administration'.

The facts really are that the Obama administration has been pretty much textbook Democrat; they have been a little right of maybe half the Democratic Party. They have done nothing to cause all this ire and dyspepsia from people like you who immerse yourself in opinion blather which is full of fantasy, conjecture and cynical political manipulation.

Yes, an act of war. His birthplace is irrelevent. Actually since I am calling him a traitor, pointing out his American birthplace does not hurt my case at all.
