Muslims in US armed forces
by ctown924
Not a good idea in my opinion.

Why? Worse than Timothy McVeigh types?

He was unhinged. Being Muslim per se is not the path to that.

All religions are irrational. Why single out muslims?

You have to trust comrades. McVeigh didn't kill his own. Not an excuse but keep that in mind. If Hassan hadn't shot soldiers, I'd agree with you.

But in the military, you have to trust your own. Heard all excuses for this guy already. He was conflicted, he was teased for being a muslim (BS if he was teased it would have been because of his weight), bunch of other reasons. Since he lived, we'll find out why this happened.

fanatics (= psychopaths) in the armed forces?

McVeigh killed among other people a bunch of little children in the day care center in the fed.building in Oklahoma --are you actually saying that civilians are not an American soldier's "own"?

PS: if McVeigh had still been in the military, he would have killed his fellow soldiers and/or their kids. Remember how many daycares elementary schools and middle schools are in Fort Hood?

degsme, that may be true, but so is signing up for combat duty. I certainly don't want to do it.

Who did he kill then? Did you eat paint chips as a child?

I agree. Let's just single out the not-necessarily-psychotic people who in recent history (last 100 yrs or so) are making acts of mass murder/terrorism against the U.S. because of a lunatic fringe, one that believes that doing such acts is an act of righteousness/salvation/patriotism.

Oh, wait......that would be Islam.

Yeah, and in the XI, XII and XIII centuries, that would Christians...

Attacking Muslims...

Well if religion is irrational. Then all religionists are acting psychotically.

As for attacking the USA - well lets see

  • Randy Weaver - not islamic NRA guy
  • Tim McVeigh - not islamic NRA guy
  • David Koresh - not islamic Christian
  • Unibomber - not islamic
  • Anthrax poisoner - not islamic
  • Haymarket bombers - not islamic
  • Machine Gunners at Ludlow Massacre - not islamic, US Natl Guard
  • Weather Underground - not islamic
  • FALN - not islamic Catholic
  • Symbionese Liberation Army - not islamic
  • Manson Clan - not islamic satanic
  • DC Sniper - Atheistic /polytheistic (including The Matrix)
  • GreenRiver mass muderer - Mormon.

I don't think Islam is the majority.

Randy Weaver - not islamic NRA guy

Except Randy Weaver didn't 'attack' the US. The US attacked him, completely unjustifiably. And paid him $3 million for doing so. After they murdered his son and his wife.

He wasn't associated with the NRA, either.
Weaver was willing to sell
by degsme
Weaver was willing to sell illegal arms to someone wanted by the Feds.

You are right. In fact we should round up all the Muslims in this country, and put them in interment camps. /sarcasm
