"denialism" kills people

I am sorry that Mr. Spector forgot to notice that the world-wide ban on the use of DDT against mosquitos that spread malaria results in the deaths of roughly a million people every year—rather a high price to pay for honoring the memory of Rachel Carson, don't you think.

Hmm, that might be true if the ban wasn't a myth.

The "ban" is not a myth. Aid is being denied to African countries that don't "volunteer" to ban it on their own. Sort of like when the federal government was going to deny road dollars to any state that didn't lower its speed limit to 55.

Yet DDT use has never stopped. In reality, widespread spraying causes evolution of resistance in the mosquito populations. DDT spraying was stopped on a preset schedule to maximize its effectiveness.

Would seem that businessanalyst wants the government to provide expensive services like foreign aid and highways but heaven forbid there be any regulations attached. I think we'd all like to have billions of dollars worth of free stuff thrown our way but in the real world it just doesn't work like that.

(But you know there is no speed limit on most of Germany's highways..ever consider migrating?)
