And Slate thinks the tea party crowd is crazy? You might want to get some of the Slate staffers out of Manhattan once in a while and see how the world works.

Which of his staffers "proposed" a 9/11 theory? If you are talking about Van Jones signing a document that requested an investigation, you should read the document. It asks questions about what was known, prior to 911. The organization that pushed the document does believe that Bush knew about the potential for an attack and did nothing.....Gee, remember the PDB titled "Obama determined to strike in the US"?

The picture of the corpses of Jews murdered at Dachau, used in a poster to somehow link health care reform to the holocaust absolutely paints the tea partiers as nuts.

Both of those two were assholes so they balance out! Really it was a poor reference for someone to make even if she was joking (she claim it as satire). But really I see no reason for anyone to get upset about that type of BS.

But one shouldn't say everyone of these protesters is nuts because of the signs carried by a few. I was in a few anti-war protest and I didn't agree with a lot of the signs used at the time then either.

Both sides should focus on policy issues in a mature way.

it is the expressions of many of the tea baggers, not just a few. I watched the wackjobs here in denver last week. I'd say better than a quarter were carrying signs that I'd call objectionable. Lots and lots of references to Obama's birth certificate. A huge number of references to Naziism and Communism.

Ok so 'many' of the tea baggers carry signs with objectionable POV. They are fellow Americans and in a democracy the govnerment should represent the views of all Americans. There are many tea baggers and while their angers is over the top, they have views we have to listen to, like them or not.

For example fiscal restraint. Again, when I protested I tried to hurt the police. I threw rocks at them and I didn't care if one of them was killed or not. I was wrong but some of the things I were fighting for (civil rights, pulling out of Nam), were legit. Of course I was 15 years old! Since tea baggers are mostly over 50, one would think they have grown up by then!

Don't conflate the right to express a view, with an expectation that any view deserves or is entitled to a seat in government.
