House Vote on Goldstone Report

Below is a link to how your representative voted on the Goldstone Report on Tuesday; it is heartening to not that over 40% of Democrats either voted 'no' (33), present (20), or didn't vote (23). Only 12 Republicans voted that way: 'no' (3), present (2), or no vote (7). The yes vote from Dems was 179 to 165 GOPers. <link>.

The two worst things about the vote were that Goldstone was not allowed to testify before the House, and that the non-binding resolution had so many blatant lies in it: Goldstone was critical of the vote and the main lie that stood out was that there was no reference in the report to missile attacks by Hamas. I've included links in other recent posts for people that want to read the report.

If our country can't stand up for truth and justice, we are violating every principle that we once stood for.

God Speed,

David

yep, 90% of the anti-semites in Congress are Dems.

Another reason I'm a Republican.

I oppose this non-binding resolution...

....on the same basis that I oppose all non-binding resolutions. I pay my Congressman to legislate, not to resolve non-bindingly. If I were a Congressman, I'd resolve to not show up for any non-binding resolution votes - not to vote no, not to vote yes, and not to abstain - just to make myself scarce.

Re: Did You Read Report or Resolution?

Can you explain why Goldstone was not allowed to testify before the Congress? He is a Zionist and has family living in Israel. He wanted to testify because he insisted that there were factual 'errors' in the resolution. If you would like to see citations, review my other recent posts on the subject.

Should President Obama instruct his UN Ambassador to vote to forward the Goldstone Report to the International Criminal Court if either Hamas or Israel refused to conduct a government investigation of charges laid out in the report?
