Look: no one cares. No. One. Cares. if you are saying something that is different from many reviewers. And even if we did, that is the best possible way to ensure that you're not actually reacting to a movie and are instead positioning yourself, caring more about how you're seen than how you inform your readership. I think it's a kind of preemptive self defense. It is perhaps stronger and therefore more admirable to just say "I didn't like this" rather than "Unlike those other lilly-livered, liberal, PC poseurs, I didn't like this and I'm man (or woman) enough to admit it!"
