I respectfully disagree
by GoodOldCramm
While I'm deeply sorry for the author's child, I resist the notion that the government knows best and should require mandatory vaccinations for children. The thought of not having a choice of whether or not I can decide what is injected in my or my child's body is unacceptable. Feel free to dismiss anti-vaccination research as junk science if you like. I'm going to do my own reading and make my own decisions about the risks on either side of each vaccine and disease. Thank god I live in a country where I have the right to do so.

I agree that you should have the choice, but i think a school should be able to turn away unvaccinated children.

Translation: I thank god that I live in a country where I can kill another's child and get away with it. After all, the author has just spelled out in many ways how a single unvaccinated child can kill hers. And yet you are happy to to vaccinate. Thus, you seem to be happy at the prospect of killing her child and the thousands like him.

to to = not to Sorry about the typo.

Has anyone actually suggested a government mandate i.e. children being forcefully vaccinated against their parents' wishes? Parents have the right to refuse to vaccinate their children. Schools, and day care centres have the right to refuse admittance to unvaccinated children, if they feel that these children may endanger their other pupils.

Ummm...a vaccinated child (especially one that's infected) could be equated to a TB patient refusing treatment and running around infecting people.....we can force treatment on the TB patient or even force quarantine them....

Same thing should be done to unvaccinated people. Personally, if you don't vaccinate, and your kid dies, I have no symapthy for you. If you have an unvaccinated child, by choice, and your kid infects other people that CAN'T get the vaccines, and that person dies/crippled or financial ruined due to medical bills, well then, you should eb charged with intentional manslaughter. To me it's the same as getting behind the wheel of a car drunk and taking out a family of 4.
