But you keep your Gov't hands off their Medicare!!!!
You can keep your Medicare, I'll keep my money.

Deal?

Every single one of you leftwing loonies are fully welcome to provide all the medical care for the needy you want. Spend your own money, walk the walk.

But you really, really want my money. Money I earned. And that's what it's really about. Compassion with someone else's money. How truly liberal!

Did anyone actually say that? I thought what was said was "keep your hands off my Medicare." The Reform Bill does cut Medicare, so why is that wrong?

And none of us liberals pay taxes. And liberals don't actually have higher average income than conservatives. And Blue states don't actually pay more in federal tax dollars- both aggregate and per capita- than red states. And red states don't actually take in more federal dollars than they spend. And blue states don't actually give more money to the federal government than they get back. And rural, conservative areas don't actually cost more per capita for government services than urban/suburban areas.

I'm quite sick of the conservatives whining about the government taking away their hard earned money when they are the biggest welfare queens around.

You know what? I'd rather pay an extra $4-5k a year to the government in taxes for a single payer health care system than $8-10k to a private health insurance company? And you?

Yes, people really said that: <link>

And the funniest thing about the issue is that medicare has been targeted by the right since its inception. Part of Newt's 'Contract on America' was to drastically cut Medicare spending. Now they're its great defenders?

Lies, damn lies, and statistics. Now if you would like to drill down a bit. You can't take credit for money earned by conservatives in blue states. That would really mess up you rant, wouldn't it?

Conservatives give more to charity, volunteer more, and pay more taxes. Period. Conservatives also make up more than double the population than liberals. That Red state/Blue state crap is a feeble attempt at justification, and it doesn't hold up to scrutiny.

Why is that? Why are liberals so stingy with their own money, and time, but so driven to give away mine?

You want to give your money to the government, go right ahead, no one's stopping you. Just leave me (and conservatives) out.

Good link, I thank you. It doesn't surprise me at all that the parties have switched sides on the issue. They do it regularly and are rarely called on it. You see we are at war with Eurasia, we have always been at war with Eurasia...

Right (and todji),

Thank you for all those counter charges. Could one of you provide some support for your arguments?
